team drumming events

Drumming workshops can bond and motivate teams, embed strategic messages  and fast – track learning.  The benefits include boosted energy, increased cooperation and enhanced communication, it's also great fun!

Drumming sessions can include either African or Samba styles of drumming, or a combimation of the two.

Group drumming taps into core energies and stimulates team participation. It sharpens listening, concentration, focus and risk-taking.

When delegates walk into the room they see an exciting array of drums and percussion instruments. After a humorous warm-up we facilitate simple interlocking parts that soon become musical giving delegates a palpable sense of achievement. The group learns to ‘rumble’, play call-and-response patterns, and play a final ‘performance’ piece.

The whole sound is powerful, resonant and much greater than the sum of the parts a great team metaphor.

Samba Drumming
Instant Carnival. Played with sticks, on a variety of large and small instruments, the rhythm of the Samba is teamwork in action. It gets people out of their seats and moving to the beat.

From small hand-held agogo bells, through rattling snares, to the massive surdo bass drums, every part is essential to the groove and applauded as such. Teams can learn their parts in separate break-out areas or all together, depending on space and the ‘message’ of the event.

The Samba’s thunderous intro, timed breaks, and synchronised ending are irresistible – people are amazed by the final performance they create.

Boomwhackers
Boomwhackers are a new form of tuned percussion - coloured plastic tubes, between one and four feet long.

Hold a tube in one hand, whack it with the other, and you get a resonant musical note. All the notes are within the key of C, so they all harmonise with each other – resulting in instant music!

With our facilitation, dividing the group in different ways, much inspiring fun can be had with Boomwhackers. Hundreds of people can play at the same time, or a team of ten can quickly discover their hidden musical talents, with much laughter along the way.
