The Segway™ Human Transporter is a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to body movements, "sensing" when it should speed up and slow down.
Riders stand on a small platform between left and right wheels and hold onto the handlebars at a comfortable waist height. The Segway handles the balancing so that riders are always upright as they glide through any environment.
Segways can self-balance because of a technology called dynamic stabilization which works in much the same way your own sense of balance does.
The Segway has solid-state gyroscopes, tilt sensors, high-speed microprocessors, and powerful electric motors performing to keep it balanced. Working in concert, these systems sense your centre of gravity, instantaneously assess the information, and make minute adjustments to keep you balanced. A Segway balances whether you're travelling at speed, carrying a heavy load, slowly manoeuvring in tight spaces, or just standing perfectly still.
Segways can operate on a variety of terrains. Hills, grass, inclines and dirt pose no obstacle to its ability to go where you want to go. All that is required is traction to operate in virtually any environment.
The Segway has been engineered to operate under a wide range of conditions. The Segway has been extensively tested to withstand vibration, varying temperatures, and exposure to moisture.

Segways are available at our Midlands venue near both Birmingham and Nottingham on the Warwickshire/ Leicestershire border. Segways are available as a group activity or corporate event and can be delivered for fun, challenge, incentive or reward. Alternatively Segways are can be combined into a team building activity day or included in a multi - activity competition event. The Segway activity at Garlands is easily accessible from Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry, Nottingham, Derby, Tamworth and Burton Upon Trent.
